“Before everything else, getting ready is the secret to success.” — Henry Ford
Robin has spent her career helping people and organizations navigate consequential decisions, complicated disputes, and moments when sound judgment matters most, and her path has never been confined to a single professional lane. Over the course of nearly 30 years, she has worked as a trial lawyer, in-house counsel, mediator, assistant general counsel, banking executive, commercial lender, and private trust and wealth-management advisor. That breadth allows her to see a problem from more than one angle: the legal merits, the business realities, the financial consequences, the human dynamics, and the cost of allowing conflict to continue.
Today, through Taylor Legal Strategies & Solutions and Brazos Valley Mediation, Robin brings those perspectives together for clients and parties who value preparation, candor, discretion, and innovative ways to find solutions. The principal office is located in College Station, Texas which allows her work to be connected to both the Brazos Valley community and Texas, statewide.
A Career Built Across the Courtroom and the Boardroom.
Robin began practicing law in 1998 and has represented clients in federal court and at every level of the Texas court system, from small claims matters to the Texas Supreme Court. As a commercial and civil litigator, she has managed complex high-exposure cases starting from a client’s initial assignment, including stages of investigation, discovery, mediation, pre-trial, trial, and appeal. From 2008 through 2014, Robin was in-house Senior Trial Counsel for AIG and its affiliated insurers, where disciplined litigation management, reporting, budgeting, risk analysis, settlement and verdict valuations, and overseeing multi-level relationships between clients, risk managers, general counsel, corporate representatives, third-party administrators, claims adjusters, claims counsel, self-insureds, excess carriers, experts, and opposing counsel, were as important as courtroom advocacy. During this period, AIG was the nation’s largest commercial insurer.
Robin’s experience later expanded beyond traditional commercial and insurance defense practice. In 2015 Robin decided to start her mediation practice, Robin K. Taylor PLLC, and worked with a group of mediators out of the Greenway Mediation Center in Houston until moving to the Brazos Valley. During part of that time, she also worked for a high-profile Plaintiff’s firm in an effort to better understand the process of the plaintiff bar, referrals, working up the cases, mediating those cases and learning the damage models and settlement disbursement side of the docket. Once residing in College Station, she served as Assistant General Counsel for The Texas A&M University System and advised institutional and agency members on litigation, employment matters, policy, compliance, contracts, and administrative proceedings. She also worked in the financial industry for several years as an executive in commercial lending, trust administration and wealth management where she gained a heightened skill level for evaluating risk through a financial and fiduciary lens, as well as a better understanding how legal decisions affect business operations, cash flows, relationships, and long-term value.
This combination is central to how Robin works in a courtroom or a conference room presiding as your mediator. She listens carefully and is able to extrapolate on her broad array of industry aptitude to identify what is truly driving the problem to help clients find a remedy that is legally sound, economically sensible and workable in the real world.
A practical, forward-looking counselor and neutral grounded in three decades of legal, business, financial, and insurance experience.
Experience. Judgment. Integrity.
