“Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can.” —Abraham Lincoln
Robin K. Taylor is an enterprising and forward-thinking attorney-mediator with nearly 30 years of practice across core industries in the legal, financial and insurance/risk sectors. Before moving to the Brazos Valley in 2018, Robin was an insurance defense and commercial litigator as well as a neutral facilitator in Houston, Texas for 20 years. Since arriving in Aggieland, Robin has worked in the banking, trust & wealth management industries as well as serving as Assistant General Counsel for the Texas A&M University System Offices.
Robin believes a client or party’s resolve starts with the being provided the best insights and that entails empowering you to decide your own outcome. Robin’s practice is built on several life-long instilled values, but two pivotal principles are: information is empowering and clarity changes outcomes. When people are equipped with the risk realities, legal transparencies, and the foresight to bridge the gaps, they are far more motivated and inclined to accommodate an endgame. Robin’s career has been driven by an uncompromising commitment to integrity. Anyone can claim to have principles, but the proof of Robin’s integrity lies in a continuous track record of heightened-trust relationships, coupled with the longevity of an extensive professional network that is intact and enduring today. She now brings her years of experience with civil litigation, dispute resolution, general counsel services and finance to the Brazos Valley.
Robin K. Taylor: Attorney. Mediator. Outlier.
Today, Reputation Is Everything.
Today’s business disputes increasingly involve more than traditional legal issues. The landscape of what will dominate court dockets and mediator’s conference tables might remind some lawyers of a scene from a 90s science-fiction film, but our new reality is that the legal profession must know more than the law alone. Legal technology, data analysis, artificial intelligence, changing business practices, and new operational risks are becoming part of the legal landscape that affect how companies and insurers make decisions and resolve disputes. The modern AI revolution is not just a technological milestone; it represents a societal transformation. With all the promises AI is offering the business community therein lies challenges that strike at the core of the industry creeds and codes of ethics.
Technology is only as valuable as the judgment behind its use. The advantage is not simply using AI —it is knowing how to use it intelligently, responsibly, and critically while preserving the human judgment, experience, integrity, and accountability that remain indispensable to the business best practices as we know them. Its future impact will depend not only on technical progress but on ethical alignment, policy formulation, and human collaboration. This is why reputation and character matter. Integrity and judgment matter. And, experience matters. As a litigator and neutral facilitator with these attributes, Robin knows how to help clients and parties maneuver through this ever-changing environment to avert pitfalls and find solutions.
Robin has long been an advocate for continuing education in her professional field as part of a relentless interest to be informed about the evolution, and revolution, of lawmaking and changes across the state. Arguably, today, this is important now more so than ever. As a Fellow of the Society of Legal Scholars with the Texas Bar College, Robin has far surpassed the professional requirement for continuing education for more than a decade. Remaining current with frequent changes in our laws, at the federal and state levels, through constantly exceeding her educational requirements as set by the State Bar is invaluable to help parties and clients gain a better understanding how newly developing areas of law, which are major influencers to the economy, workplace and community, affect businesses, risk assessment and strategic decision-making in Texas.
This combination is particularly valuable in the Brazos Valley, where the AI Revolution has met with the traditions of Aggieland and, big or small, businesses can benefit from a well-versed commercial and civil mediator having broad legal experience, without needing to look exclusively to larger metropolitan markets.
Robin’s approach is about understanding how to conquer tomorrow’s problems affecting clients, today. It’s knowing to asking better questions, identifying the practical and economic interests behind a dispute, and helping individuals and businesses make the most informed decisions.
Experience still matters. Judgment still matters. Reputation still matters. And in a rapidly changing business environment, staying informed matters too.
Attorney Role and Neutral Role.
Legal services are provided through Taylor Legal Strategies & Solutions. In that role, Robin represents and advises the client identified in a written engagement agreement. Mediation and arbitration services are offered separately through Brazos Valley Mediation. When serving as a neutral, Robin does not represent either participant or provide either side with legal advice.
